  • Ladies, Love Your Body to the Bones

    I, along with the Susan G. Komen Foundation would like to end Breast Cancer. Therefore, this makes me determined to get the word out about anything and everything that will help women live healthy lifestyles or at least help in the cause. Let’s all start by imposing some information that has been handed to me by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.     In August of 2017, I went for my regular breast cancer screening since age 40, yes I turned 40 in 2011; everything went smooth, then a few days later I got a call. The test showed something that did not look good; I assured myself it was nothing because I touch myself (Ode to a song) quite often since finding out I have dense breasts, and sure enough the test results were negative.     One of the first steps to combat breast cancer is to do self-examinations or annual check-ups by your doctor.   • One Year In

    One Year In

    I have the dubious honor of having a side gig, blogging. How I got started? I became interested in writing at a very young age. Therefore my passion for writing has turned into blogging. I am not a full-time paid blogger as of yet, that day will come. Right now it is a side gig, meaning something I love to do aside from my full-time paid gig. Most noteworthy, Blogging is a tool of expression. If I want to discuss a specific topic, I just put pen to paper. Consequently,  the real work comes in getting people to read what you write. This pet peeve has my biggest forte to cinch; everyone has their ideas, the best option is to continue; also, it only takes one person to see (Ramelle Carter Blog) like it, then others will come, for now, I have fun.

    • Blogging as a Business
    Business ideas always change and differentiate the existence. Some people have a keen sense of maintaining the balance in business. Many will succeed in business and rather some will fail. The key is not to get discouraged, the better and positive vibrations which flow from your brand, the better. No one has the best idea or formula, keep pushing out good work and things will fall together into the perfect form. Especially relevant is that Blogging is a very heavily saturated genre with people competing for an appearance to land at the top.

    First of all,  stand out from the crowd of other blogs and make sure that your standards stay profitable and prosperous. Blogging entails either your brand is the promotion of getting traffic to your blog, notoriety to be an Influencer and have a significant social media following.

    • Monetizing a Blog
    The best advantage of getting traffic is also in part due to monetizing your blog. Furthermore,  get from Problogger (Darren Rowse) https://problogger.com/. As of yet, I have not mastered this form but the time will come.
    • Brand
    Your brand is who you are and the innovative marketing techniques, steps you take to build it. What is your niche? Answer: what are you the best at, some examples are cooking, sewing, baking, beauty, hair, writing, speaking, business and the list could go on.
    As a result of all your hard work, this is as plain and straightforward as it gets.

  • Milestone Movie Review

    2‘Pup Star’ Movie review was my very first Blog post

    The love of animals and children keep me upbeat in a fantastic way. First of all, “Pup Star’ the movie is the commotion that calms the ocean. A charismatic tribute to “The Voice” mixed with a joyous celebration of “American Idol” this movie tugs at your heart-strings. Adorably opulent, due to the imagery of dogs with humor that deserves special ‘paws’ for applause. Yes, the main characters are delightful; allow me rather re-introduce Charlie and Tiny. Charlie, the Labrador retriever, a down on his luck retired singer trapped in a shelter. And of course, Tiny, a Yorkie, who is also a singer that misses the warmth of having an owner.

    Charlie breaks away from the shelter, and Tiny follows. As a result, the adventure in dog tribulations begins. Tiny, our fun-loving Yorkie sparked joy with such an incredible singing voice, she is just what Charlie needed to pick up his spirits. Then Tiny got kidnapped or in this case, dog-napped, Charlie reacted by standing up for what he knew was right, besides he has to have Tiny back for her audition in the singing competition so she can become fabulous, ‘Pup Star’ essentially this is where the real fun begins.     More women need to speak up against Domestic Violence

    Today begins another saga, when finally my mind is at ease, the dirt of my past rears its ugly head. I am receiving annoying phone calls from my ex; the nerve of him to start things up again; this charges my reaction to the cycle of further domestic endurance. The preparation of discovering what obstacles are coming my way is impressive; I am confident that I will get my peace and swag back, preferring not to discuss all the consistencies of this affair, but will say that I won custody of our children, and we divorced; I thought the pain was over. My kids are the best gifts; mom and dad issues have nothing to do with our love for them. We don’t see each other, and things are great; I have no bitterness or anger.

    The dysfunction began as a result of his domineering drug dependance.
    My knowledge came when he took his fist to both my eyes,  I got black eyes from the dysfunction, thus the first restraining order. I remember the court date, the lawyer pleaded with me to testify in the case but instead I stayed home. A mistake I find disheartening, especially now: as I look at the news flash, it reads- a brave soul standing up for her rights and taking down jerks; my contempt right now is at an all-time high.

    Consequently, I have taken charge of my life; my bravery most likely will help others. I share stories like this to uplift and above all shed light, to see that you are not alone, it’s effortless to pretend that nothing has happened. Yes, sharing bad moments of the past will begin a cycle of change, a significant difference should shift in a right direction that will prepare more women and maybe even men to speak up, you are not alone, do not keep silent.

    Fashion Designer, Priscilla Ratcliff

    Fashion Designer, Celebrity Stylist, Author, and Entrepreneur Priscilla Ratcliff is a significant player in the fashion arena today. Priscilla Ratcliff of Houston, Texas, graduated from Texas Southern University, an ordained minister from The Ministry Training Institute. Also, she studied fashion at Cal State University, Long Beach, and earned yet another Career Technical Teaching Education Credential in Business/Finance and Fashion/Interior Design, a Merit Teaching Credential from El Camino College where she now teaches. Priscilla consequently instructed and introduced a new course in Fashion Merchandising Entrepreneurship at Otis College of Art and Design, and most noteworthy completed her Master of Arts in Education, from CA State Univ, Dominguez Hills.

    Priscilla is a well-versed talent in Design, Fashion, Education, and Entrepreneurship.  As a result, I had the pleasure of spending time with her and students at El Camino College. She instructed on taking the abilities they already have and connect them most of all, with even more excellent knowledge of fashion design. Therefore, I am sure more students would sit in her class again. It seems like fashion fits Priscilla very well. Hence she knows the thread to enhance any design. She also has a skincare line in addition to everything else she touches.

  • My History of Pain to Happiness

    Desperation and despair clouded my memory and angered me to my most damaging extremities. My very first child was a miscarriage; I got upset, started throwing a tantrum and miscarried. I blamed myself for not taking the time to think of my body and baby first. This year would have been Lil baby’s 18th birthday; I tell people I have three children when in actuality, I have three on earth and one in heaven whom I will see one day again. Today I celebrate seeing my children grow and blossom into fabulous, outgoing, smart individuals.

    My grief started when my Grandfather passed away. I watched him take his final breath; this was not easy for a mere 14-year-old. Two years, later my grandmother, or (madear) as we called her, passed when I turned 16; consequently, another blow to my core. I remember at her funeral, all seven of her children kissed her on the cheek; as she lay in her casket. When my chance came to see her for the very last time, the usher came to escort me, and I froze like a stone. I didn’t want to see her in the casket; therefore I could not say goodbye. Believe it or not, her spirit often reminds me of “What a mistake I made?

    Daddy passed from AIDS, given to him by blood transfusions of the late 1980s. If anyone knows or has read the story of Ryan White out of Indiana, that’s somewhat my dad’s story. It all came to a head when I became involved with the father of all my children. People us as a hot, wired mess. He also suffered losses, complicated with drug use, drug dealing, infidelity on his part. We argued, blamed each other for our problems, and then after years of a tumultuous relationship, we called it quits. Today, we realize our mistakes and move on with mutual respect. Couples need to release the pain, love one another, build a life of happiness and strength to press forward on a positive tip.

    Today is about happiness in all that I do because being upset or in pain never helps. I am not mad at anybody; I try to avoid conflict or bad influences. I mean I am not Positive Princess every day, I have my days of shouting, throwing tantrums and being sad, but I take every down day, think of a way to turn it into good, then get back to life; a life filled with persistence and strength. I have fun, private times with friends, aside from red carpet events or outings, I enjoy walks in the park, movies, sporting events, shopping, reading, and listening to all types of music.
